Responsibilities:
Working with the Hong Kong-based Practice Leader to build, manage and coach a staff of 3-5 Japanese professionals located in Shanghai, China. This may include contributing to team performance evaluations, quality control standards and developing project execution best practices
- Grow the consultants by recruiting key thought leaders with basic industry professional recruiting campaigns, leveraging lists, associations, referrals and other relationships
- Interview prospective consultants as needed and capture critical data for consultant profiles
- Ensuring excellent project execution and adherence to client service and compliance standards. The Manager should develop a keen sense over time of the ideal company solutions and experts appropriate for specific client requests
- Handling escalations related to client issues and other major firm initiatives to create productive and positive outcomes.
Qualifications:
Education, Experience & Training required:
- Fluent in Japanese and English
- Bachelor’s degree, or above
- Demonstrated performance in an operations management role
- Success working in complex multi-task team environments
- A successful track record in contributing to the building of a business unit within a larger organization, especially in managing large pools of young professionals
- Success in a business built upon a “two-sided marketplace” (e.g., an exchange, software platform, or executive search model)
Job Specific Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
- Understanding Japanese culture and have extensive networks/contacts in Japan
